Konstantin Korovin (Russian, 1861-1939): Portrait of a Woman, 1912 (Oil on canvas, National Gallery of Armenia) – On his 50th birthday Korovin defined his creativity: “My major and the only ever-pursued purpose in art was beauty, aesthetic influence on the viewer, the fascination of colors and shapes. No lecturing, no moral tendency to anybody ever.”
